Journal History

JATM was created in 2009 after the initiative of the diretor of Instituto de Aeronáutica e Espaço (IAE), Brigadeiro Engenheiro Francisco Pantoja.  From September 2011, it has been edited by the Departamento de Ciência e Tecnologia Aeroespacial (DCTA).  To become self-sustainable JATM adopts, in 2020, Article Processing Charge for the approved manuscripts.

In order to reach the goal of becoming a journal that represents knowledge in science and aerospace technology, JATM searched for partnerships with other institutions in the same field from the beginning.

In January 2014, an important step was achieved and JATM merged with Journal of Aerospace Engineering and Applications (JAESA) becoming an official publication of Associação Aeroespacial Brasileira (AAB).

JATM provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

The JATM statute describing its governance is registered in: PORTARIA DCTA Nº 37/DPJ (September 2nd, 2020).
